RiffDrop

Terms of service

Last updated October 11, 2026

By using RiffDrop you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it. How we handle data is described in the privacy policy.

The service

RiffDrop is a free tool for recording musical ideas in the browser and sharing them by link. It's provided as is and as available. Features may change, and the service may pause (for example when it reaches its monthly hosting budget, until the next month) or stop altogether.

Your account and Google Drive

Creators sign in with Google. A Drop's recordings are stored in its creator's Google Drive, under Google's terms, and count toward the creator's Drive storage. Keep your Google account secure; you're responsible for what happens in your Drops.

Links

Anyone who has a Drop's link can listen to it and add recordings to it. Share links only with people you trust. The creator can replace a Drop's link at any time, which stops the old one working.

Your recordings

You keep all rights to what you record. You give RiffDrop permission to store, process and play your recordings only as needed to run the service, for example to make them playable for people who have the Drop's link. Recordings that collaborators add to a Drop are stored in the creator's Google Drive, and the creator can delete them.

Acceptable use

We may remove access or content that breaks these rules.

No warranty

RiffDrop is provided without warranties of any kind. Keep your own copies of anything important. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for lost recordings or data, or for indirect damages arising from your use of RiffDrop.

Changes

We may update these terms and will change the date at the top when we do. Continuing to use RiffDrop means you accept the updated terms.
